Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship



The Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship has been created to reward those students who have committed themselves to the pursuance of a college education despite unique personal challenges which may have befallen them. This special scholarship rewards those students expressing the Touchstone Energy brand core values in their lives:

  • Accountability – the candidate demonstrates a high level of maturity through accountability for their actions;
  • Integrity – the candidate expresses highest standards of character;
  • Innovation – the candidate demonstrates innovation and determination in coping with their circumstances;
  • Commitment to Community – the candidate has good citizenship traits and a record of contribution to their local community.


Firelands selects one boy or girl who will be eligible to compete in Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives (OREC) statewide judging held in Columbus.

A total of $4,500 is awarded, consisting of two first place $1,500 awards and two second place $750 awards. Applications for the OREC competition must be submitted (typed to be accepted) on forms furnished by Firelands Electric Cooperative. If you have any questions or need additional materials, contact your Member Services Department at Firelands Electric Cooperative.

Applications and materials for the 2008 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship will be available for download starting January 1, 2008.
