Meters and Bills
|

All residential electric meters on Firelands' system have the Turtle® Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system installed. This state-of-the-art system sends electric use data from each meter to the co-op office through the power lines. The Turtle® AMR system eliminates the cost of meter readers and provides additional data for analyzing power problems or billing questions.

Electric bills are mailed to members on the first of each month. Payment is due by the 14th of the month, and a penalty applies for payments received after the due date. Bill payments can be mailed, paid at the office or deposited in the 24-hour drive-up lock box, or paid online at Firelands' website www.firelandsec.com.
Firelands Electric accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover for payment of electric bills, fees and purchases.

The optional Automatic Bill Credit (ABC) plan, automatically deducts payment for your bill from your checking, savings or credit card account each month. You will receive a bill statement for information purposes, and your monthly bank or credit card statement will list the payment. It's as simple and easy as ABC . . . with no bill to mail! Contact our Billing Department today for details and to sign up (800) 533-8658.
Another payment option is the Budget plan, which "levelizes" your bill each month. This plan is available to members who have established at least twelve months billing history with the Cooperative. Contact our Billing Department today for details and to sign up (800) 533-8658.
