Political Action
Get involved in the legislative issues affecting you and your electric cooperative! When state or federal politicians make decisions affecting the electric industry, these decisions affect YOU, a co-op member-owner. This legislation can mean your cost goes up, power plants become more costly or difficult to build, and it can affect power reliability. But the bottom line is, YOU are directly affected by the energy laws and regulations created in Columbus, OH, and Washington, D.C.
That’s why we want you to get involved in our political action efforts. Recently, our co-op member-driven political action efforts helped defeat a state proposal that would have increased our kilowatt hour tax by $300,000. Currently, we’re faced with legislation and regulation related to alleged “climate change” and “global warming.” These bills and rules, if enacted, will be devastating to individual homeowners and businesses as well as our entire economy.

Help electric co-op's educate elected representatives about issues affecting your co-op and you; and explain to them how proposed legislation could harm or help rural electric consumers and their cooperatives. For more information, contact us at 1-800-533-8658.
