Louise Freeland Children of Employees Scholarship
In order to carry on an educational and training program that encourages children of employees and trustees to further their education, and gives them an opportunity to develop promising careers, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (OEC) offers the Louise Freeland Children of Employees Scholarship. Up to four scholarships, worth $2,800 each, will be awarded to outstanding students whose parent or guardian is an employee or trustee of one of the 25 electric cooperatives in Ohio, OEC, or an affiliated organization (Buckeye Power, RESCO, etc.).
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, whose parents or legal guardian are an employee or trustee of Firelands Electric Cooperative, or other Ohio electric co-op. Applicants must have a "B" average or better, and candidates are evaluated on their scholastic record, personal achievement, leadership, school and community activities, and cooperative knowledge. Qualifying applicants will participate in a personal interview at the OEC offices in Columbus.
